Last week’s speaker at the Kiwanis weekly lunch meeting as Miss Alabama 2017 – Jessica Procter. Several of our member’s daughters were in attendance to meet this young lady! She spoke to us about her platform issue, “Step Up to the Plate” and how the efforts of a few can impact many. We look forward to seeing her represent our great state at the Miss America competition in September!

Brian Cook is an owner of and Chief Administration Officer at Cook’s Pest Control, Inc. a regional pest management company with more than 1,700 employees with 36 offices located in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi. It is the 7th largest pest control company in the U.S.

As the fourth generation, he grew up learning about and working in the family business. After working in the pest and termite departments, he served as Customer Care Center Manager and then as Director of Business Development, both at the Corporate Office.

Charles Riley - Speaker for July 13th, 2017 - 07/13/2017

     Charles Riley served in Company A of the 1343rd Engineer Combat Battalion, and was in combat areas of North and South Korea for about a year. Riley and other combat engineers performed construction and demolition tasks while under combat conditions. 

     While developing and maintaining main supply routes, they faced challenges from dangerous mountain routes and from rain, snow and freezing conditions.
 
     Mr. Riley has written several books about the history of area sports and is the most recent recipient of the Audie Murphy Award.
